Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed the country today (10) for a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates, at the invitation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
During this visit, President will attend ‘the World Government Summit-2025 in Dubai. The summit’s primary goal is to foster a global dialogue by bringing together world leaders to discuss topics such as future-oriented strategies and technological innovation. The event will focus on exchanging knowledge about the challenges humanity faces, future trends, and new opportunities. Over 4,000 participants from 150 countries will be in attendance.

In addition to the summit, President Anura Dissanayake is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with state leaders and heads of government from various countries attending the event. President will also meet with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation between our two nations across multiple sectors.
Furthermore, Mr President will meet with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, as part of this visit. To promote investment in Sri Lanka, he will engage with senior executives from prominent global companies in sectors such as information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), energy, tourism, finance, and media.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Mr. Vijitha Herath, is also accompanying on this visit.
