The Colombian star went to the emergency room in Peru’s capital on Saturday night, days after launching her first worldwide tour in seven years.
Shakira is a Colombian musician who achieved success in both Spanish- and English-speaking markets. By the early 2000s she had become one of the most successful Latin American recording artists in the world.
Shakira has cancels Lima concert after being hospitalised during global tour. Colombian pop star Shakira had plan to perform on Monday (18) after being hospitalized with stomach illness. She had cancelled her concert and says will be rescheduled.
The singer kicked off her world tour last week with concerts in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. After her performance in Peru, Shakira’s tour will continue with scheduled dates in Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and more than a dozen U.S. cities, including Orlando, Florida; Houston; Detroit; Boston; New York and San Francisco.
“I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience,” Shakira has said.
